Anusara TM (a-nu-sar-a)
Means "flowing with grace", "flowing with nature", "following your heart". A yoga school developed by John Friend, Anusara Yoga is described as heart-oriented, spirtually-inspiring and grounded in the Universal Principles of Alignment TM. Laugh, open your heart, and find joy while optimally aligning your body to find strength, flexibility, and balance in your yoga practice (and your life).
Meditation Class
The focus of meditation is to bring inner peace to ourselves and the world in a positive and spiritual way. The world is not always peaceful, it is therefore essential to create positive and peaceful thoughts to bring peace to our mind and to the life that surrounds us. Meditation is one of the best methods to bring about transformation, healing, connection, and forgiveness.
In this class we approach meditation patiently, without expectations for results.
Special Meditation Class with Bhante Sankichcha August 20 7:00 PM ONE CLASS ONLY
Blue Lotus Insight Meditation Center is proud to host and
welcome Bhante Sankichcha, a Buddhist monk and experienced
meditation teacher to our Las Vegas group. Bhante Sankichcha
was born in Sri Lanka and ordained as a monk at the age of 16
in the Theravada style of Buddhism. He studied in the forest
style tradition and since his higher ordination he has traveled
and taught meditation classes around the world. Currently he is
living in Southfield, MI, and is head abbot of the Great Lakes
Buddhist Vihara. He just recently finished a silent retreat at
Spirit Rock, a famous retreat center in San Francisco, and will
be passing on his insights and knowledge gained from that
experience. Please welcome him, and join us at one or more of
the meditation classes below.
Please wear lose fitting and comfortable clothes. Most places
have a yoga mat or cushion to sit on, but you may want to bring
your own blanket or meditation cushion. We conduct our
meditation sessions sitting on the floor. We usually do sitting meditation and
the a discussion afterwards. Ask questions...the more in depth
we ask, the more in depth of a response we get.
